## What is Escrow?
Escrow is a neutral holding account. When you trade on PayNest:
- **Buyer**: Funds are deducted from your wallet but not yet given to the seller.
- **Seller**: You see that the buyer has committed funds, so you deliver the card or file.
- **Both parties must confirm** before money moves.
## Common Reasons for Disputes
1. **Invalid gift card code** – The code doesn't work or has zero balance.
2. **Wrong file delivered** – The script is different from what was advertised.
3. **Incomplete delivery** – Missing documentation or source files.
4. **Buyer claims non‑receipt** – But the seller has proof of delivery.
## How to Open a Dispute
1. Go to the trade page.
2. Click **"Report an Issue"** or **"Open Dispute"**.
3. Write a clear explanation and attach evidence (screenshots, video, file hashes).
4. Our support team will review within 2–4 hours (24/7).
## Evidence That Helps You Win
- **For sellers**: Screenshot of the gift card balance check, delivery confirmation, chat messages where buyer approved.
- **For buyers**: Screen recording of the card failing, file integrity check showing corruption.
## After the Decision
- If the seller is at fault, funds are returned to the buyer.
- If the buyer is fraudulent, funds are released to the seller.
- Both parties can appeal once within 7 days.
## Tips to Avoid Disputes
- Always communicate inside PayNest chat (not external apps).
- Test gift card balance before listing as seller.
- Buyers: record screen during redemption.
Escrow makes trading safe – use it wisely!
